Games begin in early April. Travel practices will likely begin a week or two before games. Daily practice schedules for Li'l Kicks, Micros and Juniors are posted on BranfordSoccer.org under the "Spring Practice Sched" tab. Fees for Spring remain unchanged from last year.
Programs are grouped by birth date. Specifically:
• Li'l Kicks - Aug 1, 2003 through July 31, 2005 (Fee $40)
• Micros - Aug 1, 2001 through July 31, 2003 (Fee $45) • Juniors - Aug 1, 1999 through July 31, 2001 (Fee $50) • U-10 Travel - Aug 1, 1999 through July 31, 2001 (Fee $25)* • U-11 – Aug. 1, 1998 through July 31, 1999 (Fee $75**) • U-12 - Aug. 1, 1997 through July 31, 1998 (Fee $75**) • U-14 - Aug. 1 1995 through July 31, 1997 - (Fee $75**)
Congratulations to all the Branford Soccer teams that took part in the 2009 Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament, including Coach Scott Thayer's U14 Boys White (pictured left), and Coach Ralph Romano's U12 Boys Red (pictured right), who took first place, and the U14 Boys Red and U12 Boys White, who took second.
With numerous champions, finalists, and undefeated teams, the Branford Soccer Club once again had a tremendously strong showing in the 2009 Clinton Invitational tournament May 16-17. Five of the six Branford travel teams made the tournament final in their age group (U11-U14) and two won titles. In addition, while the U10 divisions did not offer championships, both U10 Girls and U10 Boys did not lose a game, meaning half of the eight Branford teams in the tournamentwent undefeated.
The Particulars:
The U14 Boys Red gave up just two goals and went undefeated to win the U14 Boys Comp championship.
The U11 Boys Red were scored on only once to go unbeaten and take the U11 Boys Comp championship.
The U14 Girls Red team was a championship finalist in the U14 Girls Comp bracket.
The U12 Boys Red went into overtime in the U12 Comp championship final.
The U12 Boys White team made the finals of the U12 Boys Rec division.
The U10 Girls went undefeated in four games.
The U10 Boys also went undefeated in the tournament.
The 2008/2009 campaign continues to be stellar for Branford Soccer. The Club had two division champions in the Fall, and of the eight Branford travel teams vying for titles at the 2008 Madison Invitational Tournament, six of them reached the finals and three of them were crowned champions.
In all, nearly 80 percent (11 out of 14) of Branford's girls and boys travel teams made tournament finals in 2008-2009.
Congratulations and thank you to all the players and coaches for their great work, and to the parents for allowing and encouraging their kids to participate.
BRANFORD TEAMS WIN AT MADISON TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to all the BSC travel teams that took part in the Fall 2008 Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament. Several Branford boys and girls teams took first or second place. Among the champions were the U12 Boys White (Black division), the U12 Girls Red (Gold Division,) and the U12 Boys Red (Gold division). The U11 Boys Red, U12 Girls White, and U14 Girls Red finished second in their groups.
