We would like to inform all families of an important change being implemented by U.S. Soccer regarding youth player age group registration and team formation.

Beginning with the upcoming seasonal year, U.S. Soccer is transitioning to a new age grouping structure using an August 1 through July 31 age matrix. This change moves away from the current calendar birth-year system and is intended to better align players with classmates and peers within the same school year.

What Is Changing?
Under the new system:

• The soccer year will run from August 1 through July 31.
• Players will be grouped based on this updated age matrix rather than by traditional calendar birth year (January–December).
• Many players may notice changes to their age group designation compared to previous seasons.

Why the Change?
U.S. Soccer has stated that this adjustment is intended to:

• Improve player development and social experience
• Better align youth soccer participation with school-year peer groups
• Reduce challenges families faced with split-grade teams and friend groups
• Create a more consistent developmental environment for players

What This Means for Our Club
Our club is currently working through all aspects of this transition, including:

• Updating registration systems and player eligibility settings
• Reviewing team structures and roster formations 
• Coordinating league and tournament alignment
• Communicating updated age group information to families
